Milton Real Estate

Yes, it’s true, the Town of Milton really is a happening place!  And one who’s population is continuing to grow, along with the values of homes.

It’s hard to believe that this town, with a population of only 30,000 in 2000, has increased to over 100,000 people in 2015.  And what’s more, the plan is for a population of 228,000 by 2031.

What attracts the population to Milton?  There are many reasons why people choose to purchase Milton homes for sale.

1.   Location

Milton is located in Southwestern Ontario and is part of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).  It’s just west of Mississauga and Toronto, and north of Oakville.

2.   Transportation

It’s centrally located on Highway 401, and near Highways 407, 403, QEW, 410, 427 and 400.  Direct CN and CP rail access and Milton GO Train (commuter rail) to downtown Toronto.  Milton is approximately 20 minutes from Toronto Pearson International Airport, and 50 minutes from Hamilton International Airport.

3.   Events

There are so many wonderful things to do in Milton year-round!  From the Milton Fall Fair, to the weekly Farmer’s Market held each Saturday from May to October, to a visit to the Halton County Railway System – these are just some of the events that draw big crowds on a yearly basis!

4.   Outdoor Living

Milton is well known for its green space and recreational areas – double anywhere in the GTA!  If you’re looking to ski in the winter and don’t want to travel far, look no further than Glen Eden!  For those who enjoy the warmer activities more, Kelso conservation area has its own manmade beach.  And you can’t forget the many conservation areas that abound for hiking, or mountain climbing: Rattlesnake Point, Mount Nemo, Hilton Falls, to name just a few.

5.   Demographics

Another popular feature for new residents to Milton is its diversity.  In 2001, only 3.1% of the population was a visible minority.  Compare that with 30.0% in 2011! The median age of residents in Milton is 34.1, one of the youngest in all of Canada.  A young population, ideal for those wanting to grow their family.

The Town of Milton is the fastest growing community in Canada with a 56.5% growth rate.  It’s evident that the Town has a lot to offer new residents by way of living.

And I know that your next question is going to be the cost of housing.  How affordable are Milton Homes for sale really?
